Yuvaan: The Debate
"THE AI PARADOX: A boon or threat to human skills in the workplace"

On January 13, 2025, the Co-Curricular Committee organized an event named Yuvaan to celebrate the 162nd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a prominent figure in Indian philosophy and a source of inspiration for the youth. The event aimed to engage students in meaningful discussions about contemporary issues while honoring the ideals of Vivekananda.

The debate on “THE AI PARADOX: A boon or threat to human skills in the workplace” showcased the exceptional oratory skills and critical thinking of our students. Participants included Raghav Dutta, Muskaan Goel, Jasbir Vaswani, Deepu Biswas, and Aashish Vinayak. Each participant presented compelling arguments, highlighting various perspectives on the impact of artificial intelligence on human skills in the workplace.

Raghav Dutta emerged as the winner, impressing the judges with his articulate arguments and in-depth analysis of how AI can enhance human capabilities rather than replace them. Muskaan Goel was awarded the runner-up position for her insightful contributions and strong rebuttals. The debate not only fostered a spirit of healthy competition but also encouraged students to think critically about the evolving role of technology in their future careers.

E2: Energy Efficiency Symposium

The Media Committee of SIBM, Noida successfully organized the “E2: Energy and Efficiency Symposium” on December 11, 2024 from 2:00 pm onwards. This dynamic event aimed to address real-world challenges in Energy Efficiency & Sustainability while encouraging students to showcase their creativity and AI-powered solutions.

The symposium featured an engaging lineup of case study presentations, where students analyzed pressing energy-related issues and proposed innovative solutions.

  • Event Highlights: Participation & Competition: Students from MBA (2024-26) participated in the event, each presenting their carefully researched solutions to contemporary energy efficiency and sustainability challenges.
  • Expert Evaluation: A distinguished panel of jury members evaluated the presentations based on their relevance, feasibility, and impact, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of each case study.
  • Interactive Discussions: The symposium facilitated an open forum where students and industry experts discussed key energy concerns, AI integration in sustainability, and future advancements in the field.

The event was a resounding success, reinforcing SIBM Noida’s commitment to fostering innovation, critical thinking, and sustainable practices among students. E2: Energy and Efficiency Symposium has set a high benchmark for future events, inspiring participants to contribute actively to a greener and more efficient future.

The ADMAD Show: Unleashing Creativity in Advertising

On November 28, 2024, Market Club – MarkXcellence conducted an electrifying The ADMAD Show, a dynamic and innovative competition that pushed the boundaries of creativity, quick thinking, and advertising acumen. The event provided participants with a platform to showcase their ingenuity by conceptualizing and presenting captivating advertisements within a limited timeframe.

The competition drew an enthusiastic crowd of students, aspiring marketers, and advertising aficionados eager to demonstrate their ability to think on their feet and craft persuasive ad campaigns. Participants were assigned products and services on the spot, challenging them to develop distinctive and engaging advertisements within a limited preparation time.

Democratic Dialogue: A Mock Parliament Session

On 27th November 2024, Symunity – The Alumni Community and ShodhSutra – The Research Committee collaboratively organized “Democratic Dialogue: A Mock Parliament Session”. The session served as an engaging platform for participants to experience the workings of parliamentary democracy firsthand. It was a thought-provoking simulation designed to foster a deeper understanding of governance, democratic values, and the intricacies of policymaking.

The primary goal of the session was to bring democracy to life by enabling participants to assume roles in a mock parliamentary setting. Through debates on pressing national and global issues, the participants gained a practical perspective on governance and decision-making processes. The event was enriched by the inclusion of multiple key ministries, with participants stepping into the shoes of ministers, opposition leaders, and policymakers.It provided a platform for participants to hone their critical thinking, research, and communication skills while fostering a deeper appreciation for the democratic process.

Gender Equality Debate Competition: Reservation of Women in Government Jobs

On November 13, 2024, AAroh – The Co-Curricular Committee organized a stimulating and thought-provoking Gender Equality Debate Competition on the ‘Reservation of Women in Government Jobs’. The event served as a platform for students to express their views on one of the most debated topics in contemporary governance and social justice.

The competition brought together participants, each presenting well-researched arguments either in favor of or against the policy of reserving government job positions for women. The debate aimed to foster an informed discussion on the implications, benefits, and potential drawbacks of gender-based reservations in public sector employment.

AAroh – The Co-Curricular Committee continues its commitment to organizing such insightful events, promoting intellectual discourse, and shaping the leaders of tomorrow. The debate left attendees with new perspectives and a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding gender-based affirmative action, paving the way for further discussions and research on the topic.

Freedom Run

On August 7, 2024, the Sports Committee of MBA 2024-26 organized the “Freedom Run” in celebration of Independence Day. The event aimed to honor the spirit of freedom and unity, encouraging students to participate and show their patriotism through fitness and camaraderie. The run brought together students in a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere, reflecting the values of independence and collective strength.

Blood Donation Drive

On July 31, 2024, the MBA batch of 2024-2026 at SIBM Noida attended a Blood Donation drive at Symbiosis Noida campus organised by Campus Wellness Advisory Committee. Volunteering student donors were assessed by doctors on the ground before proceeding with blood donations. The event was conducted under the guidance of the Faculty Incharge, Prof. (Dr.) Ritesh Dwivedi, with student coordinators Khushi Sharma and Suhas G Nair to oversee the proceedings. The volunteering students received certificates in recognition of their contributions to the noble cause. Also, they were given Juices to energise themselves after blood donation.

The Tug of War

The Tug of War event organized by the Sports Committee of MBA (2024-26) near Hostel garden area on July 31, 2024, was a great success. The event significantly boosted team spirit and collaboration among participants. Students and staff members worked together, strategizing and encouraging each other, which led to a sense of unity and mutual support. It achieved its objectives of promoting teamwork, leadership, and communication while providing a fun and engaging experience for all participants. The positive outcomes observed from the event underscored the importance of such activities in fostering a cohesive and motivated community within the institute.

Open House Discussion – The Indian Budget 24

On July 24, 2024, the Finance Club, MBA 2024-26 organized a session titled “The Indian Budget 24” to provide insights into the budget and its implications for the country. The session began with an introduction by the Faculty Coordinator, Dr Govind Nath Srivastava, who set the stage for the discussions. Finance Club members then shared their insights on the budget, leading up to presentations by teams formed from the class. Each team presented their reports, analyzing various aspects of the budget. At the end of the session, the top two teams were recognized and awarded prizes for their outstanding presentations. The session concluded with a summary of key takeaways and reflections on the budget’s impact.

Speak-A-Thon: Extempore Speech Competition

Speakathon, an Extempore Speech Competition organized and coordinated by the Research & Scholastic Committee, took place on July 17, 2024. Participants from the MBA 2024-26 batch delivered impromptu speeches on various random topics, including sports, culture, economics, and current affairs. The judging panel, comprising members from the MBA 2023-25 batch, assessed the participants based on their knowledge, content, presentation, and confidence. Katyayani Kashyap and Shraddha Bhasin were declared the winners. The judges also shared valuable insights and words of wisdom. The event was conducted under Guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ritesh Dwivedi and it has provided a platform for participants to learn from each other’s ideas and speaking techniques, while also helping them improve their time management skills in both preparation and delivery.

The National Students Paryavaran Competition (NSPC)

The National Students Paryavaran Competition (NSPC), themed “Sowing to Growing,” is an initiative sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Organized by the Social and Co-Curricular Committee on July 10, 2024, NSPC emphasizes the urgent need for action against climate change, encouraging active participation from educational institutions and students to foster a nationwide movement. SIBM Noida’s MBA 2024-26 batch demonstrated enthusiastic involvement under the guidance of Program Leader, Prof. (Dr.) Ritesh Dwivedi, on July 10, 2024. Each participant contributed to the campus garden by sowing 10 seeds, along with planting a sapling, showing dedication to the cause of environmental preservation. Participants received certificates from the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and the Ministry of Education, Government of India, as recognition of their contribution. The National Students Paryavaran Competition (NSPC) is a remarkable initiative addressing climate change through education and direct action, inspiring students to contribute towards a sustainable future.

Workshop on Handling Interviews Effectively

The Corporate Connect and Placement Committee at SIBM Noida, organized a workshop as part of the pre-placement activities, focusing on the effective handling of interviews. The session on handling interviews effectively provided valuable insights into various aspects of interview preparation and communication. The focus was on presenting oneself authentically, emphasizing key skills, and demonstrating an understanding of one’s professional journey. Mr. Chetan Kohli, Co-founder of Jinactus Consulting, served as the resource person for the workshop.

SIBM-Noida Intra-Batch Cricket Match​

VYOM, the Sports, Social, and Co-Curricular Committee at SIBM Noida, organized an intra-batch cricket match, which saw enthusiastic participation from students. The event served as a wonderful platform for students to unite, enjoy themselves, and foster strong bonds. This friendly cricket match not only allowed MBA students to unwind and connect but also showcased their keen interest in sports and friendly rivalry. It was a memorable occasion that united the SIBM Noida community, emphasizing the significance of sportsmanship and camaraderie among peers.

Workshop on ‘Corporate Vs Start-up Life’

The session on ‘Corporate vs Startup Life&’ by SIBM Pune alumnus, Mr. Dhruv Bajaj, Co- Founder of T-Assets, was organized by the SYMNI Student Council, The Alumni Committee at SIBM Noida. The insightful session provided valuable perspectives on leadership, self-learning, and the dynamic aspects of the corporate and startup environments.
